Writer. Public Intellectual. Faith Leader.

Danielle Tumminio Hansen brings over twenty years of expertise to her work as writer, public theologian, and faith leader. She is a three-time Ivy League graduate, a former lecturer at Yale and Tufts Universities, and the author of numerous works on the intersection of theology, trauma, women’s lives, and contemporary culture. She currently works as a professor at Emory University.

Danielle Tumminio Hansen steps into the space of the unspeakable, weaving together first-person narrative, feminist discourse, and theology to understand why it’s so hard to talk about sexual violations and how to create opportunities for healing and justice.

In Conceiving Family, Danielle Tumminio Hansen offers a cutting edge interdisciplinary, international, intersectional analysis of what it means to be a family and community in the age of assisted reproduction.

Tumminio Hansen reflects upon the experience of teaching the first seminar of its kind on theology and the Harry Potter series at an Ivy League university with reflections on how to understand the books and their relationship to Christianity. At once accessible and insightful, God and Harry Potter at Yale encourages readers to think deeply about the beloved series in a fresh way.
